How does it work? What should I bring to my appointment? These are all great questions.

At Emporia Tattoo, our clients needs are our top priority. We strive to be a comfortable and inclusive studio; dedicated to bringing your ideas to life.
Our artists are dedicated to creating unique and personalised designs that reflect your individual style and vision.
On your appointment day, you can expect:
✿ Pre-appointment consultation to allow any minor adjustments to the design, talk through placement and sizing to ensure the design is perfect and suits each clients vision.
✿ Stencilling time can take as long as needed - if it’s not right the first time, let us know! Re-stenciling is never an issue.
✿ Throughout the appointment, you’re welcome to use headphones, bring a book, ect. Each client is always welcome to bring along something to entertain themselves for their time in the studio.
✿ Take the breaks you need; breaks are encouraged!
✿ Bring your own snacks or pop out to grab one during your lunch breaks for longer appointments.

Not sure what to bring? We have the perfect checklist for you:
✿ Photo ID (must be government issued) proving your age/date of birth
✿ Snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic of course)
✿ Warm clothing incase you get cold - some areas of the body may require clothing with easiest access to the location, please check with your artist if you have any questions or check out our FAQs
✿ Book, phone, headphones, other items for your entertainment during your appointment
✿ You’re welcome to bring a friend or support person to your appointment, however we do limit this to one pal per client, and ask that children are not brought along to the studio.
Your artist will always be happy to cross check any questions you may have - get in touch!
Some medical conditions and medications do not mix with tattooing. It’S important that if you have medical concerns, that you’re healthy and well before getting tattooed.
Typical sickness such as colds, flus, COVID and other viruses can affect the healing of a tattoo and its overall outcome.
If you are unwell before your appointment, we kindly ask that a client reschedules their appointment for another day - allowing yourself to feel better and get the best result! Our team love some time off, but not if they’re sick - please be mindful that our team will be in close proximity!
Ongoing medical conditions may also interfere with the tattooing process and your body’S ability to heal.
Skin conditions may include: eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, acne and sunburn. Active breakouts or flare ups cannot be tattooed over and will need time to heal before the skin on the area can be tattooed.
Medications for acne such as roaccutane can affect the integrity of the skin, and a client will need at least 6-12 months off the medication before they can be tattooed.
Blood thinning medications can and will also affect the tattooing process and healing. Excessive bleeding during an appointment will cease the appointment.
These medications can also prolong the healing of a tattoo and in turn, affect the overall outcome.
✿ It is always important to check with your doctor before getting tattooed if you have any questions about your health and the healing of a tattoo ✿
